Bo Svensmark

Personal data: Bo Svensmark (until 1978 Bo Svensmark Jensen), born  January 31,1945 in Denmark, Danish citizenship.

Profession: Associate Professor (half time), Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

1976, Ph.D., University of Copenhagen, (organic electrochemistry).

1972, M.Sc., University of Aarhus, (organic chemistry).

2015 - Professor Emeritus, Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, University of Copenhagen

2012 - 2015: Associate Professor, Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, University of Copenhagen (half time)

1978 - 2012: Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen (since 2010 half time).

1976-78: Post.Doc., University of Lund, Sweden.

1973-76: Ph.D. stipendiate, University of Copenhagen.

1972-73: Assistant Professor, University of Aarhus.

Publications: 54 publications of which 13 are original papers in organic electrochemistry and 36 are original papers in analytical and environmental chemistry.

Research interests: Analytical chemistry applied to the study of the fate and effects of chemicals in the environment.

Scientific adviser 1990-2014: 5 Ph.D. students and 91 M.Sc. students.

Teaching experience: Theoretical and practical courses in analytical chemistry including statistics and quality control at all levels. Basic environmental chemistry.

Other experiences:

2002 and 1994: Organizer of the 7th and 3rd Danish Symposium in Analytical Chemistry.

2001-2003 and 1993-95: President of the Danish Analytical Chemical Society.

1996: Organizer of the 15. Nordic Atomic Spectroscopy and Trace Analysis Conference.

1993-94 and 1979-81: President of the Danish Electrochemical Society.
